Comic Books

Reading some of the comic books for this week assignment, I found it interesting how many of them have been adapted into another form of media. Reading The Adventures of TinTin: Explorers on the Moon, Captain America Comics #5, and Batman No. 1 I found it interesting that the stuff that interests me was things that have been adapted into things that I have watched and wanted to see the original source. I have a big interest in superhero movies specifically Marvel movies so reading and looking at the source material for them and seeing how they are adapted and changed is interesting. I don’t have a lot of knowledge on comic books but having the chance to read and see how they are adapted just by using a different media like movies especially to see how comic books like TinTin has a style change in comparison to the original artwork. The style of TinTin in a modern adaptation of 2011 has an animation style that gives the characters a more 3D style of the cartoon in comparison to a comic book 2D style or the earlier version of animations that use a 2D style as well. Superhero comic books such as Batman and Captain America have many adaptations similar to TinTin that start with comic books but then later have been adapted into live action movies with actors taking on roles as these superheroes so now they become associated with them.
Adaptations of books has always been something that has been done but with comic books it is different because they have original artwork so there is design for the movies and story lines that extend for a long time through a lot of series of comic books dealing with specific characters. Adaptation of comic books don’t let much creative freedom be followed because it doesn’t use imagination to see the costumes or how a character looks because there is illustrations that can be copied.
